Bias in journalism and media and entrenched commercial interests is prohibiting 'The Fourth Estate' from playing an unbiased and objective role in society. Due to the massive increase in centralized political powers, emerges a need for the fourth estate of democracy, where transparency is maintained regarding information, news and the public sphere. The Foundation promotes excellence in independent, public-spirited and socially impactful journalism by granting donations to independent journalism outlets and ensuring there is an objective voice that is supported in society.
