EEKI Foods is an indigenously developed hydroponics farming technique that uses only 20% of the water used in traditional farming and gives 7 times more yield per square meter. Water scarcity is a growing problem in India where 17% of the world's population has access to only 4% of global freshwater supply and where farming uses 90% of the ground water resources, EEKI could bring nutrition to the people in a very efficient manner. Technologies that reduce demand for water are much more sustainable than trying to solve for supply of fresh water through energy and capital intensive technologies like desalination plants. The family has invested in the company at Angel stage and the valuation of the company today has more than doubled.
